Ridgewood to make Graydon Pool more accessible to handicapped residents
Village officials are planning improvements to Graydon Pool to meet new federal guidlines giving handicapped residents access to public pools.
These new rules are part of a major revision of the American Disabilities Act, that are aimed at improving accessability at recreational facilities and public spaces. These regulations took effect March 15.
States and local governments are required to make their pools accessible within a year by adding an ADA-compliant pool lift or sloped entry.
