New Jersey has been Declared a Federal Disaster - Hurricane Irene
Federal Aid Programs for Individuals and Businesses are Now Available for New Jersey Disaster Recovery. Consequent of Hurricane Irene, President Obama has declared a federal disaster in Bergen County.
Affected individuals, families and businesses can register for FEMA Disaster Assistance Programs:

How to Apply for Assistance:
Affected residents and business owners can begin the disaster application process by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Disaster assistance applicants, who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY, should call 1-800-462-7585 directly; for those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 1-800-621-3362. .
The toll-free telephone numbers are available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) Monday through Sunday until further notice. Applicants registering for aid should be prepared to provide basic information about themselves (name, permanent address, phone number), insurance coverage and any other information to help substantiate losses.

New Jersey Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NJVOAD) is also offering assistance regarding Hurricane Irene clean-up. NJVOAD can assist the elderly, diabled, and those needing extra assistance to clean up water and mud, along with cleaning up flood damage in your home, basement, or small business. NJVOAD is open 24 hrs a day 7days a week, it is free, confidential, offer TTY, and have multilingual help availiable.
