Ridgewood, NJ – In anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the Ridgewood Fourth of July celebration– which will feature one of the largest fireworks displays in the Village’s history – the Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration Committee is introducing a limited edition t-shirt that not only commemorates the historic 100th anniversary but also gains the wearer entrance to the 2010 celebration on Veterans Field in Ridgewood. This is an ideal gift for Ridgewood’s July 4th fans.
T-shirts are priced at $15 each and can be ordered online at www.ridgewoodjuly4th.org. They can also be purchased during Ridgewood Sidewalk Sale Days, Thursday May 13 through Saturday May 15 in front of the Little Flower Shoppe at 160 E. Ridgewood Avenue. Proceeds from the sale of shirts will help underwrite the Village’s largest-ever Fourth of July celebration, which is scheduled for Monday, July 5, 2010.
July 4th in Ridgewood is a very special day that our entire area looks forward to all year. In 2010, the Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration Committee will sponsor its 100th anniversary with our flag raising, parade and fireworks. This year's theme is "100 Years of Supporting the Tradition”. The committee is an all-volunteer community group that coordinates the day's events and does not receive direct funding from the Village of Ridgewood.
The Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration began in 1910 when the local papers, the civic section of the Woman's Club and the Ridgewood Fire Department joined forces to create a “safe and sane” holiday with an emphasis on Patriotism. It has grown into one of the largest celebrations in the New York City area and has been featured on CNN and Good Morning America as well as local New York stations. The celebration was once again named Best Parade and Fireworks by the readers of 201 Magazine.
